Coach Profiles

Stephen Finney (Head Coach & Welfare Officer)
I Started club coaching locally in 1991, I have gained level 2 in jumps, speed, throws and endurance and am qualified as a Children in Athletics Coach
I Coach Athletics at junior and secondary level, in schools across the High Peak, including five after school and two dinner time clubs and also during some curriculum time sessions.
I was awarded East Midlands Coach of the Year in 2005.
I am one of the founder members of High Peak AC when the club formed in March of 2014

Caroline Pimblett(Welfare Officer)
Caroline is a qualified assistant track and field coach. Her passion is running.
She has a wealth of experience in competing, having started her running career at 14 years old.
She has run for top British club, Sale Harriers Manchester, competed for England and attended Boston College, USA on a track scholarship.
Now mum to 3 children, she passes her experience and knowledge on to the children at High Peak Athletic Club.

Keith Tolley(event organiser)
I qualified as a coaching assistant in 2015, and assist the coaches at the Saturday morning and Thursday training sessions.
I have participated in a variety of sports over the years, with the main one being squash, and I currently play for Buxton squash team in the North West Counties league.
My interest in athletics is more recent and came about through my daughters, who are keen members of HighpeakAC, this led to me initially acting as a volunteer helper and then going on to gain my coaching certificate.
I am a keen runner, and my main claim to fame is coming 9th in the UK National Backwards Running Championships (2012) I also completed the Wall Ultra-Marathon in 2013 (69 miles along Hadrian’s Wall) in a time just over 19 hours.
