HPAC retain 2nd place at penultimate Sportshall competition

HPAC managed to maintain their 2nd place position behind AVEAC, with some outstanding performances from all of the athletes and considering that many of them had ran in the Derbyshire Cross Country Championship the previous day and were nursing slightly tired legs this makes their efforts and achievements even more special.
The top scorers for HPAC on this occasion were Byron Masterson U13B with an outstanding 29 points, closely followed by Elliott Archibald U15B & Megan Harris-Wood U13G who both performed excellently to achieve 28 points each, Freya Hatcher U11G had great results in her events and scored 26 points and finally Sosseh Badjie U15G scored an impressive 23.5 in a highly competitive age category.
Also scoring valuable team points were ; Courtney Limer, Alice Tolley & Marrisa Jackson U11 girls. Eddie Fenton, Frankie Heathcote & David Laver, U13 boys.  Ruby Burton, Jaime-Lee Taylor, Katie Taylor & Nell Tolley U13 girls.  Fraser Masterson, Freddie Hatcher & Isaac Quinn U15 boys.  Sasha Scragg, Charlotte Sweetmore & Aime Sweetmore U15 girls.
The athletes in team relays also showed some outstanding efforts, with many of the races being exciting and closely fought. The boys once again showed their strength and dominance, both the U13 & U15 easily winning their relay races. The U11 & U13 girls teams both battled hard to finish 2nd and the U15 girls narrowly missed out on 2nd, finishing 3rd.
HPAC are going to continue to training hard to ensure they at least maintain their 2nd place standing in the overall competition at the last of the Sportshall competitions which is to be held on 12th February.
